Hey y'all! Hope you had an amazing week. Mine was full of coding assignments, which you know what that means? Lots of movie reviews! They weren't that outstanding, but they were all ones I've wanted to watch. So, let's get into it.

American Assassin (2017)

Watching Dylan O'Brien repeatedly get beat up reworked my brain like the Hellraiser puzzle box shifting to its next formation. I am normally not a fan of these brawny, savage, manly films, however, I loved this one. It is aggressive yet passionate, an unconventional love film. It pulls you in from the start and remains unpredictable. I was captivated by O'Brien's character, with his unrelenting drive to avenge his fiancé.

Dexter, Season 8 (2013)

This was one of the MOST DISAPPOINTING TV SHOW ENDINGS EVER! I immediately looked this up when it ended. It made no sense, and I am glad that society at large agrees with the failure of this ending. With such a strong pilot and first season, its disheartening to see Dexter fall apart into this. It lacks Dexter's reasoning with characters "doing things" that just don't make sense (I am being so vague because I would hate to spoil it) and all the positive change Dexter has worked towards is thrown out. It leaves open so many plot holes. And why would Dexter leave him behind?

From what I heard, the ending is supposed to set up the series for the expansion, Dexter New Blood, but was this even in the making when it ended?

Overall, the finale of this series felt rushed. It lacked emotion and connection. I honestly would recommend the creators of this show go watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy, a TV show that could make you laugh and break you all in the same episode. They are known for their life-altering finales and plots, and all I could think was that this show could use that power! I will not be watching the continuation of this show.

Blue Velvet (1986)

This movie felt like a fever dream. I did not understand the characters' decision-making whatsoever.
